Sufficient supply of RON97 at stations

KUALA LUMPUR: The shortage of RON97 has ended with petrol dealers reporting sufficient supply and motorists having no problem filling up.

Accounts assistant Ng Ka Chun, 24, said finding RON97 was no problem now.

“I decided to switch to RON97 after it dropped to just RM2.46 on Dec 1,” he said.

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman student Louis Goh, 23, also switched to RON97 after the fall in price.

“I get my petrol at Gunung Rapat. So far, I have not seen any of the stations there facing a shortage problem,” said Goh, who lives in Ipoh.

He added that he would revert to RON95 as his car consumes RON97 more quickly than RON95.

Bank executive Ivan Tong, 27, said he had not seen any “Not Available” or “Out of Order” signs at RON97 pumps of the petrol stations he visited.

Petrol Dealers Association of Malaysia president Datuk Hashim Othman said petrol station owners ordered extra shipments from oil companies following the increase in demand.
