Hollywood film to be shot in Pinewood Iskankar Malaysia Studios next year

BEIJING: Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios is poised to be the next shooting destination of a multi-million dollar Hollywood film next year.

Creative Content Association Malaysia (CCAM) and MULU Global Creative Cultures Development (Beijing) Inc, on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understandings for "Alien City" to be shot in Iskandar.

Tony Meng, chief executive officer of Imola Media Limited, a Chinese media and entertainment consulting company, which is participating in the film production activities, said filming, with a minimum budget of RM50mil (US$15mil), would start next year.

Besides the United States and China, Malaysia and Indonesia would also be involved in the production works, he said.

Meng expressed confidence about doing the shooting at Pinewood Studios, which is well known for the filming of the United States' Netflix drama series, 'Marco Polo'.
